PAINFUL HAND INJURY

WIRE STUCK IN FINGER A painful accident occurred to the right hand of Mr. Albert Brakewell, a farm assistant, at Waimauku yesterday. He was carrying milk in a pail, which had a handle made from fencing wire, when he slipped and fell. One end of the wire handle was driven into the index finger of the right hand and was so firmly Embedded in the flesh that medical aid was necessary to withdraw the wire. The young man was taken to the surgery of Dr. M. S. Harris, of Kumeu, who removed the wire by an operation on the hand.
