STRAND
TWO FINE TALKIES “Tanned Legs,” a sparkling musical comedy of vivid youth produced by Radio Pictures, is the first attraction at the Strand Theatre. It is one of the first tuneful shows to be written directly for the screen, with five superb original song numbers, and a chorus of 40 Hollywood beauties. Hugh Herbert, author and director, defies precedent with a romantic comedy-drama that startles as well as pleases virtually everyone that witnesses it. Herbert's latest achievement is Radio Pictures’ “He Knew Women,” based on the stage play, “The Second Man,” and the second feature at the Strand. With Lowell Sherman in the title role, Herbert builds his comedy and drama around the figure of a suave, worldly man who would rather marry for money than love. Alice Joyce, David Manners, and Frances Dade lend a'dmirable support to Sherman. “Ho Knew Women” scored a decided hit during its first showing.
