INTEREST VANISHES
DRAW NOW INEVITABLE AT FOLKESTONE AUSTRALIA MAKES 43Z Reed. 10.20 a.m. LONDON, Friday. Interest has vanished from the match between the Australian cricketers and the South of England team at Folkestone, as a draw is inevitable. Chapman, the captain, put every man on his side on to bowl, with the exception of the wicket-keeper. Jackson and Bradman, resuming Australia’s innings, when the score was five wickets for 242, scored with freedom, hammering Freeman. Jackson reached 1,000 runs of the tour in first class games, and Bradman topped 3,000, including a Scottish century. The tail-enders, Wall and Hornibrook, made a surprising stand, scoring 97 in 70 minutes ard carried the visitors’ total past their opponents*. England batted for an hour before stumps.
