KAURI GUM
INVESTIGATION OF USE IN INDUSTRY CONTROL BOARD MEETS At a meeting of the Kauri Gum Control Board, held on Thursday, reports were received from the board’s representative in America in connection with investigations being made by him for further openings for kauri gum in manufacturing industries, and in particular the adaptation of the cleaned chip gradings of the board for these purposes. Mr. M. T-I. Wynyard presided. Experiments are at present being carried out in America in connection with the application of kauri gum in certain industries, as suggested by the board’s representative. Communications were also received from the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research .and the Industries and Commerce Department with regard to investigations being made for the board in Great Britain. The next meeting of the board will be held on October S. A return was received from the Customs Department showing the gum entered for export during July to be: Destination. Tons. Value.
