“Hamlet.,” with Laurie Cowie in t.,e cast, “Henry V.,” an “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” are among the Shakespearian plays which have been broadcast ill London.
John Ralston has take it the part formerly played in the J.C.W. productio not “New Moon,” by the late Sidney Stirling. The company is now playing Melbourne, and very successfully. It will later play "Country Girl,” a revival that delighted Sydney. Marie Bremner, Sidney Burchall and Leo Franltlyn are well cast.
Maud Allan, the classic dancer, is living in comparative retirement in London, and has a charming house in Regent's Park. Recently she was the victim of a domestic with a penchant for setting fire to things, with the result that Miss Allan was caused considerable annoyance and some damage by the girl’s action. Police restraint had to be enforced to put a stop to the Welsh domestic’s career of arson. Other employers as well as Miss Allan suffered.
The romance has been short-lived of one of the famous Dolly Sisters—that internationally famous dance duo who w-ere all the rage on the Continental stage a few years back. Rosie Dolly is seeking severance of her marital ties from Mr. Mortimer Davis, the Canadian tobacco millionaire. She IS, pining to return to the footlights, and when she proposed setting up a luxurious cabaret near the Champs Elysees in Paris, w ith her sister Jennie in support, Mr. Mortimer objected—hence the desire for freedom.
