PRETTY' EPSOM CEREMONY FRENCH—HETHERINGTON The marriage was celebrated on Wednesday afternoon of Elizabeth Gwendoline, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Hetherington, of Wairiki Road, Mount Eden, and Norman, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. A. French, of Claude Road, Epsom, at the Presbyterian Church, Gardner Road, Epsom. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. W. McDonald.

Given away by her father, the bride was gowned in ivory georgette and lace, fashioned with a close-fitting bodice and full flared skirt, which fell

from a scalloped waistline to the ankles and was finished with a deep band of ivory lace. Tiny silver and white rosebuds were embroidered in each scallop. Her embroidered veil was arranged on the head cap fashion and was held in place with a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of white flowers. Miss Marjorie Hetherington, sister of the bride, and Miss Merle French, sister of the bridegroom, were bridesmaids. wearing frocks of rose pink and green georgette respectively, made alike with tight-fitting bodies, from which fell flared skirts with uneven hemlines. A large taffeta bow was worn at the back of the waistline. Their hats of felt and crinoline were turned back from the face and they carried bouquets to tone with their frocks.

Mr. A. French carried out the duties of best man. and Mr. C. Kay was groomsman.

After the ceremony a reception was held at the house of the bride’s parents, where Mrs. Hetherington received her guests wearing a frock of beige georgette and lace with a black and beige hat. Mrs. French was gowned in black georgette and lace over white satin with a black bangkok hat. Mrs. R. Greenwell, sister of the bride, was in wine marocain. and a black hat.
