AVONDALE BRIDE

CHURCH IS PRETTILY DECORATED FOR CEREMONY

KINNEAR—RANKINE

At St. James's Presbyterian Church, the marriage was recently celebrated of Nancy, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Rankine, of Wolseley Road. Avondale, and James, eldest son of Mrs. Kinnear, of Mount Albert. The Rev. E. Harris performed the ceremony and Mr. Beckerell presided at the organ. The church was prettily decorated with autumn flowers for the occasion.

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of ivory crepe de chine with a tight-fitting bodice and a full flared skirt falling to the ankles and relieved with a silver, lace yoke and uneven hemline. Posies of orange blossom and silver ribbon defined the waistline. Her veil of embroidered net was arranged on the head with bands of silver ribbon and orange blossoms and she carried a shower bouquet of white flowers and tulle.

Miss Margaret Rankine, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid, wearing a frock of nile green crepe de chine with frills of georgette and a deep cape collar. She wore a head-dress of tulle to match her frock, and carried a bouquet of daffodils and maidenhair fern.

Mr. J. McGeown carried out the duties of best man. After the ceremony a reception was held in the Farmers’ Tea Rooms, which were arranged with bowls of iceland poppies. Mrs. Rankine received the guests wearing a frock of black silk marocain relieved with beige lace, and a hat to tone. She carried a posy of violets. Mrs. Kinnear was gowned in black lac£ over black satin, with a beige felt hat.
