CONFERENCE DELEGATES APPOINTED

The monthly meeting of the Remuera Women’s, Christian Temperance Union was held on Thursday afternoon in the Methodist Hall. Vincent Avenue.

Mrs. Kasper presided over an encouraging attendance, and gave a helpful talk on “Aims and Work of the W.C.T.U.” It. was decided to “adopt” the Loyal Temperance Legion (L.T.L.) for young people—a work that has recently been commenced at St. Hellers under the charge pf Mrs. Kasper.

Delegates were appointed to Uie W-C.T.U: district convention, to be held at Mount Albert on September 10 and 11, and also to the Alliance Convention on Saturday, September 10. * * * ONEHUNGA BRANCH. The Onehunga branch of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union met on Thursday, and a very pleasant afternoon was spent. After a pianoforte duet by Atesdames Craig and Green, various matters of interest were considered and arranged. Alisses Kitt and Taylor were appointed delegates to the Alliance Convention. Final arrangements for the Auckland district W.C.T.U. convention, to be held at Alount Albert on September 10 and 11, were made. Enjoyable papers on scientific temperance were read by several women. Interesting discussions then took place.
