MAJESTIC
“LIGHT OF WESTERN STARS” Outdoor action dramas have captured the public taste. “The Virginian,” Paramount’s first outdoor romance with dialogue, has set the country agog. Now Paramount has brought forward its second outdoor talking romance, “The Light of Western Stars,” a Zano Grey story, with Richards Arlen, Alary Brian and Harry Green. It will show at the Majestic Theatre again this evening. An up-and-coming cast, a great production, and a story that is brimful of melodramatic action, interspersed with sure-fire comedy, and the whole knitted together with a strong romantic theme, have everything a moving picture should have, straight-from-the-shoulder, honest-to-goodness entertainment. “The Light of Western Stars” has all of these tilings, and. in addition, it is inspiringly spectacular, filmed on a big, imposing scale. A film of unusual interest is also being shown at the Majestic in the authentic movie record of the sinking of R.M.S. Tahiti. These scenes were actually taken on the vessel by Mr. Hector McQuarrie and show the lowering of the lifeboats and the final plunge of the Tahiti. ROXY FINE TALKIES COMING Tliq final screening will be given- at the Roxy Theatre this evening of the current talkie programme which is lieaded by “Trailing Trouble,” a capital Western story starring Hoot Gibson. From Monday next the Roxy will present another fine double-feature British talkie programme. On this occasion the talkies are “Flame of Love,” starring the brilliant Chinese actress, Anna May Wong, accompanied by “Song of Soho,” starring another well-known player in Carl Brisson. Tdgether they make a splendid programme.
