FAT SHEEP EASIER Press Association i.' H t LI.) IX iJ, Friday. There were' heavy yardings o£ fat sheep and dairy stock at the trending stock sale today. The prices ot‘ fat sheep declined by about Is a head compared with last week. Fat cattle sold exceptionally well at up to 40s a 1001 b. There was a good demand for dairy stock. Following were the prices:—-
Fat Sheep.—Primest hoggets, 26s to 27s 2d: very good, 24s to 25s Id: good, 19s Ud to 225; medium, 17s 6d to 18s 9d; fair, from 16s; shorn hoggets, 18s 9d. Fat ewes, primest heavy-weights, 30s 9d; prime. 26s to 275; very good. 23s Id to 245; good, 20s to 2.1 s 2d; medium, 18s-to 19s; fair, 15s to 16s 7d. Maiden eyes, 27s Bd. Fat wethers, primest heavy, 325; /prime, 30s to 30s 6d; very good, 265; good, 23s 4d to 23s 9d.
Store Sheep.—Wether hoggets passed at 15s 6d: ewo hoggets, very good. 26s Id to 27s Id; good, 20s 7d to 21s 6d; empty ewes, aged, passed at 9s.
Dairy Cattle.—Springing heifers good condition, £l3 5s for best; others, good lines, £l2; medium, £7 and £8 15s; heifers, calved, £8 10s; springing cows, best, £lO to £l2 10s: good, £8 15s; others, £5 10s and £6 10s; fat Hereford cows, heavy. £l3; Hereford heifers, £9 12s; Polled Angus heifers, £8 12s 6d; Shorthorn-cross heifers, £lO ss; Jersey-cross heavy cows, £9 10s to £9 15s; lighter cows, £6 to £6 17s 6d; bullocks, £ll 12s 6d. Store Cows. —Dairy breeds, £3 10s to £4 10s; backward sorts, £2 2s 6d to £2 ss; yearling heifers, good. £4 2s 6d to £5 14s; empty heifers, £4 2s 6d; weaner heifers. 24s to £3 10s.
