Tomorrowwill see the decision of the B section in the second grade, when the old rivals. Grammar Colts and Ponsonby, will meet to decide who will oppose College Rifles, who won the A section with an undefeated record, lor the grade championship. The two teams met in the first match of the season when Ponies’ combination proved too strong for the ex-students. Since then, however. Grammar has materially improved its combination, particularly in the forwards, and tomorrow Ponsonby may find it exceedingly difficult to repeat the performance of the first match. Grammar won the championship last season. Tomorrow a junior representative team selected from the A section players, whose competition games are finished, will travel to Pukekohe to meet Pukekohe. The local team is a strong combination, and should give a good account of itself. * * * Saturday will see the close of section games in the third open and third intermediate grades, following which the finals will,, then be commenced. Three teams. Manukau, Grammar B and Grafton, will contest the championship in the third intermediate grade, while in the third open grade Newton" and Penrose will meet in three matches to decide the holder of the premiership. * in the fourth grade one section has been finalised, but the other will not be settled until tomorrow. There are still four more Saturdays’ fixtures to he p ayed in the fifth grade before the competition will be near the final stage. Suburbs’ chances of annexing the sixth grade championship appear to be very bright, and if success rewards their efforts it will he one of the first occasions on which the club has won a grade. It is particularly pleasing to see this ciub making such progress in a district where a rival code has gained so strong a hold. * * * The championship in the seventh gratae is practically settled, there, being little chance of Nortlicote being beaten.
