NEW PROGRAMME TODAY “Tanned Legs,” a sparkling musical comedy of vivid youth, will be shown at the Strand Theatre todav, in conjunction with “lie Knew Women.” It was one of the first tuneful pictures to be written direcaly for thescreen, with five original song numbers. • The outstanding cast of film celebrities is headed by a little newcomer—i? no , Clyde. Ann Pennington, famous Ziegfeld star, who was so charmingly beautiful in “Gold Diggers of Broad'will be seen in several specialty dances with Allen Kearns, also a Broadway favourite. Albert Gran, the beloved old taxidriver of “Seventh Ideaven,” portravs the father, finally brought to his senses by his youthful daughter, “Tanned Legs Reynolds” (June Clyde). Lowell Sherman and Alice Joyce head the cast ■of the romantic comedydrama, “die Knew Women.” This alll-talking screen play introduces an unusual problem-—that of a young girl i deliberately ruining her reputation in a futile attempt to marry the man she believes she loves. Lowell Sherman enacts the part of the man. Frances Dade is the girl. The woman to whom Sherman really is engaged is Alice Joyce. A capable supporting cast includes David Manners, newcomer to the screen, who scored sensationally in “Journey’s End,” and Frances Dade, charming and talented young blonde from tlio Broadway legitimate stage.
