Wanton Shooting of Homing Pigeons
CLUBS TAKE ACTION SUPPORT OF S.P.C.A. A meeting of representatives of Auckland pigeon flying clubs was held last night at the Cornwall Club rooms to discusfi the question of persons wantonly shooting at homing pigeons, in respect to which numerous complaints have been received from club members. The following delegates present:—Messrs. D. Wilson 'Avalon), A. "Wyatt and. F. Mil ham (Auckland Society), J. Soars and La. J. Gantell (Point Chevalier), and A. Adamson and C. Young (Cornwall). 34r. Adamson presided.
The chairman said that the meeting was called by the Cornwall Club vith a view to securing the co-opera-tion of a! clubs to deal with thq question along the lines suggested Dy the Society for the Pre.._.:tion of Cruelty T ? Animals in a letter to the Cornwall Club, which first took the matter up. The letter stated that the society * as willing to assist by taking up a specific case, and would suggest that Jne club offer a reward for informa*‘°n. such as would lead to a prosecution.
