SCHOOL SOCCER

AUCKLAND’S FINE RECORD PRAISE FOR SUCCESSFUL TEAMS The success of the Auckland primary ana secondary school soccer teams was the subject of special comment at a meeting of the minor divisions committee of the Auckland Football Association last night. Mr. Adams presided. This was the first full committee meeting since the Palmerston North tour ot the primary schools’ representatives. There was a large and representative gathering to welcome the return of the manager, Mr. R. P. Harrison, his staff and the victorious boys. The coveted Webster Shield was displayed and photographs of the team were allocated to the boys by Mr. G. T. Ballantyne. The chairman of the A.F.A. congratulated the managers and boys on their success at Wellington and Palmerston North. Mr. Harrison, in reply, said that the boys behaved splendidly and played like experts. The match between Auckland and Waikato, declared the speaker, was an exceptionally good one. Mr. W. R. H. Martin referred to the success of the secondary schools’ representative teams, and spoke in glowing terms of their splendid reception in the Capital City. The Skerrett Cap and Webster Shield again became the property of the Auckland Football Association, thanks to the boys and the managers. Mr. Andrew' Menzies called for three hearty cheers for the boys and a very enthusiastic meeting concluded.
