BRIDE-ELECT AND FIANCE ENTERTAINED

ENJOYABLE GIFT EVENING A very enjoyable grift evening was griven by Mr. and Mrs. Taylor, at the Carlton Hall, Sandringham, on Saturday, in honour of the approaching marriage of Miss Joyce Batting to Mr. Kieth Crawford. A happy evening was spent in dancing and musical items given by Mr. and Mrs. Luks, Miss Irene Long, Mr. Chadderton and little Daphne Taylor. Splendid music was supplied by Mr. Luks and Messrs. E. and D. Rowell. During the evening, Miss Daphne Taylor presented a bouquet of violets to the guest of honour, while Mrs. Fred Taylor, jun., made an appropriate speech. Prizes were won by Miss Nellie Herd and Mr. T. Lock. Mr. and Mrs. W. Harrison, Miss Joyce Batting, and Miss Olga Wine. The guests were received by Mrs. Taylor, sen., who wore an ensemble frock of midnight blue crepe de chine, with knife-pleated panel and oriental trimmings. She was assisted by Mrs. Fred Taylor, jun., in a jumper suit of royal blue crepe de chine, with oriental trimmings. The guest of honour. Miss Joyce Batting, wore a dainty frock of blue taffeta and blue and silver lace. Among those present were: Mrs. F. Bone (Ngatea), sister of Mrs. Talyor, wearing a dainty frock of floral pink georgette with pearls; Miss Muriel Bone (Ngatea), in a prettily trimmed frock of apricot crepe de chine, with tiny frills and Inset with pink and blue medallions; Miss M. Taylor, handkerchief pointed pink lace frock; Miss V. Taylor, pretty green lace embroidered frock; Misses Ivy, Lily and Daphne Taylor, wearing frocks of creme crepe de chine, daintily trimmed with guipure lace and medallions inset.
