NEWSPAPER DANCE PARTY
SUN LITERARY STAFF ARRANGES HAPPY EVENING A. very cheery spirit prevailed at the dance party held by members of the literary staff of The Sun at Symondsville Studio last evening. Newspaper posters around the walls and at the entrance of the dance room gave an appropriate atmosphere, and bright streamers and balloons also added colour to the decorative scheme. Popular music was provided by Morgan's Band. AMONG THOSE PRESENT Among the dancers were: Mrs. E C. Htiie, wore a black satin gown, with touches of ivory. Mrs. P. Crisp had on a black ring velvet gown, with shoulder bow, finishing with long ends , . f ■ ATrs. G. Vennell wore a pretty frock of ivory and orange flowered chiffon. Airs. H. V. Turner was wearing a gown of black satin beaute relieved with silver. Airs. Roscoe wore a gown of phlox pink Black lace mounted on silver lame was chosen bv Airs. A. H. Williamson. Mrs. E. K. S. Aliller was wearing a silver-grey celanese frock. Airs. R. Corson’s smart gown was of black and pastel-tinted taffeta. Airs. L. Cronin was gowned in blue crepe de sole. Mrs. J. M. Rennie had chosen black Chantilly lace and georgette. Airs. T. A. Alarden had on a peacock gown of flowered chiffon. Airs. C. N. Williamson wore a bouffant gown of cameo pink taffeta. Aliss Rita Cornaga’s frock was of cherry red and french grey patterned chiffon, with shoulder cape. Flounced moire in a pretty of daffodil yellow was chosen by Miss Molly Mitchelson. Aliss Kathleen ALotion, Waiuku, was frocked in printemps green chiffon, with narrow jewelled belt. Miss Beach Hardie Neil was wearing primrose yellow satin. Miss Noeline Worthy w'ore a turquoise blue faille frock. Aliss Eulu Ballantyne’s slim-fitting frock was of flowered ninon. in shades of leaf green. Aliss Richardson had on wine red georgette, with pointed draperies. Aliss Audrey Walton was wearing sea foam green frilled taffeta, with matching organdi collar. Aliss P. White was in a smartly draped gown of turquoise and silver brocaded' metal cloth. Aliss Gwen Allen was in a slim-fitting frock of gold paillettes. Miss Lettie Sidford was frocked in soft larkspur blue faille, with ankle-length skirt. Aliss Norma Freeman’s frock was of deep gentian blue lace. Aliss Eileen Freeman wore crocus yellow ring velvet, with appliqued motifs on the long, full skirt. Miss Joyce Johnston was wearing blue flowered chiffon. Aliss Nancy Flynn had on a satin beaute gown of turquoise blue. Miss Margaret Hughes was wearing a flounced frock of ficelle moire. Miss Sue Sullivan was frocked in citronne lace. Virtue was gowned in pastelgreen crepe de chine, relieved with rhinestone trimming. Ivory chiffon, with shoulder draperies, w as > worn by Aliss Lowe. P £k 6 ta With rajnbow hospital auxiliary ONEHUNGA BRANCH ENTERTAINS INFIRMARY INMATES An exceptionally good concert programme under the auspices of the Onehunga branch of the Auckland Hospital Auxiliary and arranged by Mrs. Cyril Towsey, was presented to tbe ‘"mates of the Epsom Infirmary on Monday evening:, the items being fa?lL Ved a' Vlth heart -Y applause from a larse uudience. While the concert was proceeding in the main hall, Mrs E iSF-Su of ° nehu nga, entertained the bedridden patients in the wards with a number of well-chosen songs. The principal programme consisted °'. a . vlolm s ?>° by Miss Daphne Higham, vocal solos by Miss Aimee Clapham, Miss Doris Aloore, Aliss Mollv Atkinson Mrs. Cyril Towsey. and Messrs. Karl Atkinson and John Bree. Airs. Towsey and Air. Bree sang a duet. Miss Phyllis Graham, pianoforte solo. Mr. A. L. Griffiths, humorous contributions. Madame Grace Griffiths played the accompaniments.
