BRADMAN ALOOF

CONTROL BOARD IS WEAK IF HE GOES FREE SOLD STORY RIGHTS LONDON, Sunday. It seems certain that the manager of the Australian cricket team, Mr. W. L. Kelly, will report Don Bradman to the Australian Board of Control on his return to the Commonwealth, for his journalistic and other activities. The other players feel that this step is inevitable, especially as Woodfull, Grimmett, Kippax and Oldfield have rejected tempting offers to write for English newspapers. One member of the team says the Board of Control will prove itself the weakest body in the world if it refuses to take action against Bradman. The player concerned smiles and says nothing. He holds himself, as usual, rather aloof from the other members of the team and from Mr. Kelly, with whom, it is understood, his relations are not too cardial.
