Mr. C. R- Ford left for Wellington last evening. The Hon. J- B. Donald. Post-master-General. left for Wellington last evening. Inspector J. Dander, who has been relieving at the Auckland Central police Station, is returning to Wellington this evening. Mr. R. A. Loughnan. of Wellington. associated with journalism in the Dominion for GO years, celebrated liis eighty-ninth birthday yesterday. Sir Edwin Mitchelson and the Hon. p,. J. Garland, M.L.C.’s, and Mr. W. K. Parry, Mr. M. J. Savage. Mr. H. G. It. Mason and Mr. A. W. Hall, M.P.’s, left for Wellington last even in*? Mr. B. F. Scannell and his son. Mr. Broughton Scanned, of Napier, are at present visiting Auckland prior to leaving by the Port Gisborne at the end of the week for a business trip to England and the Continent. Mr. Vincent Ward, who successfully contested the Invercargill seat at the recent by-election, has been appointed chairman of directors for New Zealand for the Southern Cross Assurance Company.
