MANUREWA TOWN BOARD
Advice was received at the meeting of the Mannrewa Town Board last evening, from the Manurewa branch of the New Zealand Labour Party, that it had decided that the time was not opportune to take a poll on the question of rating the district on the unimproved value, and the branch did not intend to take any steps in that direction at the present time. A vote of condolence was passed with Mr. A. Breed, traffic inspector, in the loss of his wife. On receipt of advice from the South British Insurance Company that the tariff of the board’s Public Risk Policy of £2,000 had been increased from £4 to £ll per annum, it was decided to place the question of such an abnormal increase before the Local Bodies Association to enter a vigorous protest.
