SOUTHERN CROSS TO SAIL.—Now at Central Wharf loading, the Melanesian Mission steamer Southern Cross is to .sail about Tuesday next on her periodic trip round the mission stations in the Pacific Islands. OMANA FOR NEWCASTLE.—The Union Company’s collier Omana, which has been discharging coal from Newcastle at. King’s Wharf, is, according to latest advice expected to sail for Newcastle tomorrow. MAILS FOR AUCKLAND. —The Chief Postmaster advises that 24 bags of letter mail from the s.s. Ulimaroa, which arrived at Wellington this morning from Sydney, will arrive in Auckland tomorrow' by the Main Trunk expresse. ARMADALE SAILS 5 P.M. TODAY.— lne A. and A. Line’s chartered steamer Armadale, at present discharging general merchandise from New York at Prince’s \\ harf, is expected to sail for Wellington Lyttelton, Timaru, Dunedin and Sydney, at 5 o’clock this afternoon. SOMERSET SAILS TOMORROW.— Now discharging the local portion of her general cargo at Queen’s Wharf, the h ederal steamer Somerset, which arrived from the West Coast ports of the United Kingdom on August 29, is expected to sail for Wellington. Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff: tomorrow afternoon. WAIKOUAITI SAILS TOMORROW.— Advice from the Union Company states that the steamer Waikouaiti, at present at Prince’s Wharf, is expected to sail tomorrow for Sydney, thence to Port Stephens, Newcastle .and Sydney, to load fpr Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, Dunedin and Bluff. WAIRUNA REPORTS.—A radio message from the steamer Wairuna, owned by the Union Steam Ship Company, states that she expects to arrive at Auckland on the evening of September 9 from Pacific Coast ports. After discharging the local portion of her cargo of general merchandise she will proceed to Wellington, Melbourne, Sydney and Newcastle. TOFU A DUE TOMORROW.—An arrival at Auckland tomorrow afternoon will be the Union Company’s Island passenger steamer Tofua from Fiji with passengers, mail and cargo. No berth had been assigned the vessel this morning. After discharging she will return to Fiji, Tonga and Samoa at 11 o’clock on Saturdav morning. NARBADA SAILS THURSDAY.—The Union Steam Ship Company’s Indian trader Narbada is scheduled to sail on Thursday next for Wellington, Lyttelton Timaru, Dunedin and Bluff. The vessel is expected to load at Newcastle during the first half of October for Singapore thence Calcutta to take the NovemberDecember sailing for New Zealand, via way ports. SOLOY REPORTS.—A wireless message received by A. G. Frankham, Ltd. from the Norwegian motor-ship Soloy, inward bound from Galveston (Texas) with a cargo of sulphur for discharge at Auckland, New Plymouth. Newcastle and Fremantle, states that she expects to arrive in the stream here at noon on Friday. No berth had been allotted her this morning. CITY OF LYONS IN PORT.—An arrival late this morning was the A. and A. Line’s chartered steamer City of Lyons from New York. The vessel berthed at Prince’s Wharf to discharge the local consignment of her cargo of general Eastern American merchandise to the agency of the New Zealand Shipping Company. She later sails for Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete unloading.

KATOA LAID UP.— The Union Company’s Katoa has been laid up at Wellington, and moved into the stream. THE WAIPAHI.—The Union Company’s Island steamer W r aipahi left Rarotonga 8 p.m. on Sunday last with fruit for Auckland, where she is due on September 9. THE HI KURANGI. —Spedding. Ltd., advise that the steamer Hikurangi. which sailed for Norfolk Island on Thursday, August 28, is expected to arrive back in Auckland on September 6. ULIMAROA FROM SYDNEY.—The intercolonial passenger steamer Ulimaroa arrived at Wellington today with passengers, mail, and cargo from Sydney. She is scheduled to leave for Sydney again on Friday, September 5, at 11 a.m. THE PENYBRYN.—The Norwegian steamer Penvbryn, which arrived from Cuba on August 30. and is now unloading sugar at Chelsea Wharf, is scheduled to sail for Australia, to load wheat on September 9. Her local agent is Spedding, Ltd. WESTMORELAND AT LONDON.— Cabled news has been received by the Federal Company that the Westmoreland reached London on Friday morning. She left W'ellington on July 23 for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool and Glasgow, via the Panama Canal. THE PARRAKOOLA.—The Swedish motor-ship Parrakoola, now coming from Los Angeles to New Zealand, is. according to her local agent, Spedding. Ltd., expected to arrive here on September 10. She will later proceed to Welllington, Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne. GOLDEN CROSS SAILS 4 P.M.—A departure from Auckland for Wellington today will be the O. and O. Navigation Company’s steamer Golden Cross, which sails at four o’clock this afternoon. She will later proceed to Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Levuka. MATAROA CLEARS BALBOA.—Cabled advice has been received by the Shaw, Savill Company that the liner Mataroa, en route from London and Southampton, cleared the Panama Canal on Friday morning for Wellington and Auckland. She is due at Wellington on September 16. RANGITATA LEAVES HOME.—Cabled news has been received by the New Zealand Shipping Company that its motorliner Rangitata, from London, cleared Southampton on Friday last for Wellington and Auckland, via the Panama Canal. She is due at "Wellington on October 1 with passengers, mails and cargo. ZEALANDIC DUE THURSDAY.—A wireless message from the Shaw. Savill, and Albion Company’s motor-ship Zealandic states that she is expected to arrive here on Thursday afternoon with general merchandise from Liverpool. After discharging the local portion of her cargo, she will sail for Wellington. Lvttelton, and Dunedin. FERNWOOD COMING—The Norwegian motor-vessel Fernwond, now en route to New Zealand from New Orleans, is expected to arrive at Auckland on September 12. After discharging the local portion of her cargo, she will sail for Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin. Wanganui, Sydney, and Melbourne. Her local agent is Henderson and Macfarlane. OTAKI LEAVES LIVERPOOL.—The New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Otaki was dispatched from Liverpool on Saturday with a general merchandise cargo from West Coast ports of Great Britain for discharge at Auckland. Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru and Dunedin. She is scheduled to reach Auckland on October 9. REMUERA’S PASSENGERS.—The following is the passenger list of the New Zealand Shipping Company's liner Remuera, which is scheduled to leave*. Wellington for Southampton and London, via Panama. this afternoon:—Saloon: Major R. U. Howell. Mr. J. W. Harding, Mr. W. S. Thomson, Mr. .T. F. Evans Mrs. Robertson. Master Robertson; and 36 third-class. THE CANADIAN CRUISER.—The local office of the Canadian National Steamships advises that the steamer Canadian Cruiser left Gisborne at 10.30 p.m. yesterday for Auckland to complete her cargo for New York, Boston and Montreal. She is due here late tonight, and tomorrow morning will berth at King’s Wharf. Tomorrow evening she is to be dispatched finally on her return voyage proceeding via Panama Canal.
