Other Games Keenly Contested
THREE out of four senior League matches luoduceti keen and exciting football ’on Saturday, but the most important match of ihe series, that between Ponsonby and Devonport, was a disappointing one. Ponsonby won by an overwhelming margin, its victory assuring the club of the senior championship.
The other three games were extraordinarily close and exciting. After a ding-dong tussle on No. 3 area at Carlaw Park, Newton made a draw of it with Marist, and Kingsland created another surprise by beating City by one point at the Domain. Out at Ellerslie, the home side secured a spectacular win over Richmond, thifty's kicking being the deoidirjs factor in the match.

His enthusiasm, at the opening of the second spell, led him into violent contact with something solid, but after a few minutes’ attention on the sideline. he was able to continue. Prentice, as first five-eighths, and Thomas, on the wing, were constantly in the picture. Behind the scrum. B. Davis fed hit? supports with the ball whenever th*opportunity arose, and in the paok Richie, Ragg and Lennie are deserving of comment.
