CAPE-LIKE BRIMS

The new hats of the summer season in London are so large that they sweep over the shoulders like capes. A number are finished with openwork an inch away from the edge of the brim. Most of them are fashioned of black or navy taffeta with an underbrim in a soft pastel shade. Hat trimmings, too, are concentrated to the back. These take the form, chiefly of bows and buckles.
