NARBADA FROM CA LCUTTA.—The Union Steam Ship Company’s Indian trader, Narbada, arrived in port from Calcutta last evening and anchored in the stream. This morning she berthed at QueeiUs Wharf to discharge the local consignment of her cargo of Eastern produce. The cargo consists mainly of gunnies, together with a Quantity of tinned pineapples, bonemeal, peanuts, tapioca and kapok. She is to sail on Wednesday evening for Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, Dunedin and Bluff, to complete unloading. The Narbada cleared Calcutta on August 2 and thereafter completed her cargo at* Penang, Singapore and Samarang, leaving the las-t port on August 15 for Auckland. She picked up the pilot at Thursday Island for the trip down the Barrier Reef on August 22 and dropped him again five days later at Cape Moreton, Brisbane. The vessel enjoyed good weather throughout her voyage to New Zealand. In command of the Narbada is Captain A. H. Davey, who has associated with him the following officers; —Chief officer, Mr. C. Burgess; second, Mr. R. H. Hargreaves; third, Mr. J. Sadlier; chief engineer, Mr. J. Nelson; second, Mr. J. Jamieson; wireless operatoi*. Mr. E. Nicholls; chief steward, Mr. Swift.
