KAWATIRI LAID UP.—The Kawatiri reached Dunedin from Napier on Saturdav after unloading a cargo of coal from Newcastle. She is to be laid up at Dunedin.

OMANA SAILS WEDNESDAY.—According to advice received from the Union Company, the collier Omana now at King’s Wharf, is expected to sail for Newcastle on Wednesday.

WAIKOUAITI TO SAIL.—At present discharging at Prince’s Wharf, the steamer Waikouaiti, owned by the Union Company, is scheduled to leave Auckland for Sydney at 5 p.m. tomorrow.

BALACLAVA AT WELLINGTON The Shell Company's chartered tanker Balaclava arrived at Wellington from Singapore yesterday afternoon. The vessel has a bulk oil cargo for discharge at AVellington.

WAIRUNA COMlNG.—Latest advice states that th<* Union Steam Ship Company's steamer Wairuna expects to arrive here from Pacific ports on the evening of September 9. After discharge she wil proceed to Wellington, Melbourne. Sydney and Newcastle.

CARGO FROM SOUTH AUSTRALIA. —The Kaponga is reported to have reached Melbourne from Westport on Saturday. The vessel is scheduled to load at Devonport (Tasmania), Adelaide, Edithburg, and Melbourne for Auckland, Portland, New Plymouth and AVellington.

THE REM U ERA.—The New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Remuera arrived at AVellington from Lyttelton on Saturday to complete loading for England. With passengers and mail she is scheduled to sail for Southampton and London, via Panama, at noon tomorrow.

THE CAPE YORK-—The Union Steam Ship Company advises that the motorship Cape York has been chartered for one voyage from the Pacific Coast and will take the AVaitemata’s October loading for Auckland, Wellington, Nelson, Melbourne and Sydney.

NIAGARA DUE MONDAY NEXT.—An arrival from Vancouver on Monday next will be the Union Company's Royal Mail liner Niagara with passengers, mails, cargo. After landing passengers, mails and her local consignment of cargo she •will be dispatched for Sydney on Tuesday, September 10, at 10 p.m.

ARMADALE TO SAIL TUESDAY.— The A. and A. Line’s chartered steamer Armadale, which is at present discharging general cargo from New York at Prince's Wharf, is expected to sail for Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru. Dunedin and Sydney tomorrow. The local agent is the New Zealand Shipping Company.

CANADIAN HIGHLANDER LEAVES MONTREAL.—Canadian National Steamships has received cable news that the

Canadian Highlander cleared Montreal rm August 26 with cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, Dunedin and Bluff. She is due at Auckland on October S.

TAINUI FROM LONDON— L. T>. Nathan, Limited, advises that the Snaw, Savill and Albion Company's liner Tainui is expected to leave London on September 12 for Auckland and Wellington with passengers, mail and cargo. She will arrive at Auckland on October IS.

MATAROA AT COLON. —Reported to have reached Colon last Thursday, the Shaw, Savill and Albion liner Mataroa is en route from London and Southampton to Wellington and Auckland. She is scheduled to reach Wellington on September 16 and Auckland a week later. L. D. Nathan and Company, Limited, is the local agent.

CITY OF LYONS REPORTS.—A radio message from the steamer City of Lyons states that she is expected to arrive at Auckland at noon tomorrow. She is carryng general merchandise from New York and after discharging her local portion she will proceed to Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. Her local agent is the New Zealand Shipping Company.

R.M.S. MAKURA AT SYDNEY. The Royal mail liner Makura reached Svdnev from Wellington at 6.15 a.m. on Saturday* The vessel is scheduled to leave Sydney next Thursday on her return voyage to Wellington. Rarotonga, Papeete and San Francisco. She is due at Wellington next Monday morning, and is to resume her voyage the following day.

SOMERSET SAILS WEDNESDAY.— Now discharging her cargo of general merchandise at Queen’s Wharf the steamer Somerset, which arrived front Liverpool and West Coast ports of the United Kingdom on August 29, is, according to her local agent, the New Zealand Shipping Company, expected to sail for Wellington .Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff at noon on Wednesday.

COURT ARRIVES.— M ith a cargo of 7.400 tons of phosphates, the Court Line steamer Aldington Court arrived in port yesterday morning from ?i s r lan i The vessel berthed at King s \\ hart to discharge the whole of her cargo here to the agenev of Henaerson and Macfarlane, Limited. The Arlington Court was at Ocean Island for a month before she had loaded her cargo and was able to sail. The delav was occasioned by bad weather preventing her from remaining berthed and also, previously, by other vessels occupying the berth She finally sailed on August and immediately encountered continuous strong head winds and rough seas, which lasted for six days. This delay, coupled with her long stay at the island, caused a shortage of bunkers, and she “3-d .to put in to Suva in order to replenish. She arrived there on August r 4. and resumed her voyage the following day. On the passage to Auckland the \essel met with further head winds and seas which retarded h*r progress. In all she took 15 days to reach Auckland lrom Ocean Island instead of ten da vs. lhe Arlington Court last visited this port just a year agp, on which occasion she brought a cargo of sulphur froti Texas. Captain H. Ti llock is in command of the vessel, and he has with him the fallowing officers:—Chief, Mr. W. Keiii: second, Mr. M. Sandberg: third, Mr. J*. Cooper; chief engineer, Mr. .7. HAUTURI’ is due from New Plymouth at 7 o'clock tonrrrow morning, and sails on the return trip at 3 p.m. on Wednesday. HOKIANGA arrived in port yesterday from Hokianga. She is to sail at 3 p.m. on Thursday for Hokianga. KAITOA is due from Nelson on Friday and sails for Nelson and West Coast ports on Saturday morning. RONAKI is t«> be dispatched for Raglan. Kawhia and Waikato Heads a.t a o'clock this afternoon.
