ATTACKED BY MAORIS
INJURED MAN’S STORY TO FOLICE
SUFFERING FROM CONCUSSION While returning from Manurewa at about ten o'clock on Saturday evening, Constable G. J. Maloney, of Papatoetoe, found James Miller, single, 48 years of age, who resides at Manurewa, wandering aimlessly along the Great South Road at Wiri. He found Miller was suffering from extensive head and facial injuries. Constable Maloney took the injured man to the Otahuhu Police Station, where he was examined by Dr. J. S. Currie, who ordered his removal to the hospital, as he was suffering front concussion of the brain. In a statement to the police, Miller said he was attacked by some Maoris at East Taniaki, and thrown on the ground, and he was kicked on the head and face.
