An English daily newspaper has just concluded a most amusing correspondence on the subject of golf. One contributor recalled a definition of the game which will be familiar to many who have served in the army. The yarn goes that the C. 0., in an expansive moment, told the regimental-ser-geant-rpajor that he was going for a game of golf. He added, “1 suppose you know what golf is, Sar’-Major?” “Oh ves, sir,” replied the R.S.M. “It is ’ockey at the ’alt, sir.”
