BALANCED AT LAST

MOKO CHIEF, winner of the x Novice Handicap on Saturday, has not saluted the judge since winning at the South Wairarapa fixture on Boxing Day, 1925, where he was driven to victory by P. H. Green. The Peter Moko geldinq ran 3.37 1-5 from a 3.50 mark. At Te Aroha in 1927 Moko Chief finished second in a 10-furlong heat for H. Kinnimont. Since then he has never been sighted, but trainer Tuke has evidently got the gelding into racing mood at last, as he won on Saturday like a racehorse. All the same he should have paid a much larger price on his past performances.
