WEATHER IN AUGUST The weather in August was normal, with the exception of the first few days of the mouth, when temperatures were exceptionally low, says the Government Meteorological Observer at Auckland, Mr. H. M. Vincent, in his monthly report. There were many fine days and bright sunshine was slightly above the average. Rainfall was o.6Sin below the average. Winds were mainly light and variable hut a north-east gale was experienced on the night of August 28. The mean barometric pressure was was 29.985 in, the mean maximum temperature was 58deg, the mean minimum temperature 44 deg, and the total rainfall 3.39 in. Rain fell on 1.5 days and there were three days without, iecorded sunshine.
