WANTED TO SEE WIFE For trespassing on his wife’s property and breaking four window-panes in an endeavour to seo her, Francis John Hayes was sentenced to 14 days’ imprisonment by Air. F. K. Hunt, S.M., at the Police Court today. Hayes, a labourer, aged 32, pleaded guilty to the charges of trespass and damage to the value of 30s, when he appeared today. According to Senior - Sergeant Powell, Hayes had been separated from his wife for five months. He had attempted to break into her home at 5 o’clock yesterday, smashing the back windows in the act. He was in arrears with his maintenance. On the trespass charge, Haj r es was sentenced to 14 days’ imprisonment. On the first charge he was ordered to pay damages.
