WINDOWS BROKEN
ESCAPADES IN HOBSON STREET HOOLIGANS AT WORK Two more have been added to the list of windows broken in the city by midnight marauders during the last few weeks. Shoi> windows in Hobson Street and Pitt Street were broken last evening, but nothing was stolen. People living above the grocer’s shop of Mr. J. K. Caldwell at 194 Hobson Street heard the crash o£ glass when the shop window was broken in the early hours of the morning. As a rule bacon and cheese were kept in the window, hut last night it was empty. The window was broken about a foot above the pavement, as if by a kick. People on the opposite side of the road saw a man running away immediately after the crash.
Tlie window of a news agent’s shop at 40 Pitt Street was also shattered. Books and cigarettes were in the window within reach, but were left undisturbed.
