A RECIPE FOR Wholemeal Bread !..•*• x ; *c Make a loaf of this healthful bread two or three times a week and see how it will be welcomed. It is delicious and a valuable addition to the family diet. RECIPE z breakjastcups wholemeal, i breakfastcup flour, z heaped teaspoons of Edmonds Baking Powder, i teaspoon salt, i tablespoon butter, z tablespoons golden syrup , I breakfasicup each milk and water. METHOD —Rub butter into flour, then mix in wholemeal, Baking Powder and salt. Dissolve golden syrup in warm water, add the milk, then make a well in centre of dry ingredients, add the liquid and mix to a light dough. Put in greased cake tin or billy, cover with a lid and bake about one hour. The oven should be hot to start with, say about 400 degrees and allowed to cool to moderate heat.
