Celebrations of Anniversary
SEVERAL NEW FILMS The tenth anniversary of Paramount Week will be celebrated (his year from August 31 to September 6. During this period, theatres throughout New Zealand, as in other countries, will feature Paramount Week displays and screen special programmes, included in which will be the following pictures:—“With Byrd at the South Pole,” “Sarah and Son,” starring Ruth Chatterton; “Paramount on Parade” —the party of the stars; “Ladies Love Brutes,” starring George Bancroft; “The Devil’s Holiday,” starring Nancy Carroll; “Street of Chance,” starring William Powell”; and “True to the Navy,” starring Clara Bow. Releases to follow at an early date include “The Big Pond,” Maurice Chevalier’s latest picture; “Safety in Numbers,” starring Charles “Buddy” Rogers; “Grump,” starring the famous English actor, Cyril Maude, together with many other productions.
