ST. HELIERS BAY

WIDENING OF THE STRAND The footpath on the northern side of the Strand, St. Hellers Bay, will be set back six feet and the roadway proportionately widened, according to a decision of the City Council last evening. The City Engineer reported on the question, which involves the removal of 19 power poles, the rebuilding of five stormwater cesspits and the formation of six feet of roadway and footpaths. The improvements provide for a grass reserve varying from 10 to 35 feet in length, the extra cost being £590.
