RETURNING IMMIGRANTS

OBSTACLES PLACED IN WAY QUESTION ASKED IN HOUSE Press Association WELLINGTON, Thursday. The suggestion that no obstacles should be placed in the way of unemployed immigrants tvho are desirous of. returning to the Old Country was made in the House of Representatives today by Mr. R. McKeen (Wellington South). He mentioned cases of assisted immigrants who were prepared to pay their fares back, but because they had not been in the country five years they were called upon to refund the difference between the ordinary and assisted fares to this country. The Hon. S. G. Smith undertook to look into the case, and If a favourable recommendation were advisable he would place the question before Cabinet.
