DICKENS CHARACTERS

MEETING OF FELLOWSHIP The parents created by Charles Dickens in his writings were described and discussed by the members of the Dickens Fellowship at. their fortnightly meeting. Mrs. Kenneth Gordon. the president, presided. The programme was arranged by Miss Robinson, who read an interesting paper summarising the different types of parents portrayed by Dickens. Readings were given as follow:—Miss Robinson, “Mrs. Cratchit”; Mrs. Howard, “Mrs. Jellaby”; Mr. F. S. T. Little, “Mr. Dombey”: Mr. C. Kidson “Mr. Wilfer”; Mr. T. Vivian, “Mr. Dorritt" and “Dr. Manette”; Rev A B. Chappell, “Mr. Chester.” At the next meeting, Mr. Preston Chambers will lead with the subject, “The Children of Dickens.”
