“SICK OF IT”

MR. ALLSOP’S CASE REVIVED AT DAIRY CO. MEETING MR. GOORFELLOW’S COMMENT “We are sick oC this tiling. It lias been brought up and discussed before, and Mr. Allsop has not only had a fair deal but a most generous one.” In these terms Mr. "W. Goodfellow closed a discussion concerning a notice of motion, at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., held at Hamilton yesterday. As it appeared on the printed sheet, the notice read: “To consider a notice of motion lodged by Mr. E. C. Houchen, to the effect that an inquiry be held regarding the management, by Mr. P. Allsop of the company’s building department prior to its abolition in 1924, and to pass such resolution in relation thereto as may be thought fit.” “Well, that is a most mutilated form of the original notice which I rent in. and it certainly does not give the right idea; in fact, it is misleading,” said Mr. Houchen. “I have seen a lawyer about it. I have been wrongly treated and I could hold the meeting up on this point.” In his original notice Mr. Houchen claimed that it had been proved that Mr. P. Allsop was unjustly charged with the responsibility for the losses which had occurred on contracts in connection with three factories, and that a conference proved that a loss of £6,040 alleged to have been made on the Te Awamutu dried milk factory building had been unjustly charged to Mr. Allsop's department. Mr. Houchen sat out other facts which ' h» held were sufficient for the share- | holders to request the directors to hold an inquiry into Mr. Allsop's case. Mr. Houclien’s attitude did not meet with the general approval of the sharei holders present, and the motion was lost.
