Parises was a passenger on the Limited to Frnnkton this morpine He will come on to Auckland later in the day. The Rev. H. H. Bedford has been appointed acting-vicar of Otahuhu Parish during the absence in England of the vicar, the Rev. O. L>. W. Seton. Mr. K. I. Halsted, of Ilallenstein Brothers, Limited, accompanied by Mr*. Halsted, returned to Wellington by the Maunganui this week, after a three months’ holiday in Australia. Mr. H. C. Thomas, general manager of Metro-Ooldwn- Mayer (New Zealand) Limited, is at the Grand Hotel. He is to leave by the Ulimaroa on September 5, for Sydney to attend the firm's annual convention. Mr. B. C. Housley is acting as traffic assistant to the railway supervisor for thrt North Island in the absence, through illness, of Mr. E. P. Moir. Mr. Housley’s place in the traffic manager’s office is being taken by Mr. A. C. Mr. Wilford R. 1 Tarris. who for the post four years lias been Dominion organiser for the New Zealand farmers’ Union, has now been appointed as fields organiser for the Dominion Fertiliser Company, Limited.
