BIG MEMBERSHIP INCREASE The Christian Endeavour Union of \V'estern Sumo-a. Containing 5,000 Samoan “endeavourers,” was welcomed into the New Zeal-(lnd Christian Endeavour Union at ‘(L lneeti‘ng of the executive, held in the Bei'esfurd Street Church yesterday. Fourteen new societies, with 268 members, were also admitted, making ti. total of 190 societies in the Dominion, with u, membership of 4,500. \Vith the Samoan group, the society is now 9,500 strung. «The Rev. Knowles Kempton, the. acting-president, who presided over the meeting, is to frame it letter of welcome to Samoa. The number of district unions in the Dominion was increased to 12(by the addition of Mount Albert, Alount Eden, and \thngarei. Progress was made in the arrangements for the Pan—Pacific Christi-1n Endeavour Congress, to be held in Sydney in 1931. A special session of Christian Endeavour is to be held on November 3, when the Rev. V. cox, president of the Australian Union, will give an address on the world con—vention I'M held in Berlin.
