HEALTHY FINANCES A SUCCESSFUL SEASON Special to THE SI'S OPOTIKI, Tuesday. Various suggestions whereby the running of the next annual race meeting could be improved and the running of the_ races expedited, were brought .forward at the annual meeting of the Opotiki Jockey Club, held last evening. The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr. K. S. Williams, M.P.; president, Mr. A. Young (re-elected); vicepresidents, Messrs. F. Reid and E. Reece: committee. Messrs. J. T. Tabb. F. J. Short, S. D. Abbot. R. Hedley. C. T. Clarke, W. A. Butler. J. J. Moody. F. Appleton, G. A. Hathaway. K. Walker and C. Black.

The annual report and balancesheet showed that the past season's operations were exceptionallv successful. the club improving its finances to the extent of Cl'4o. The assets of the club were now £ SCO and liabilities nil. It was decided to do everything possible to encourage owners to send horses to the next race meeting.
