'_' p.m. An exceptionally short yarding of fat cattle at Westfield today met with a very keen sale. particularly for choice quality stock, and prices advanced 25 a hundred on‘ late rates. Extra choice ox made up to 425 a hundred; best young cow and heifer made to 403 a hundred. Medium quality and indifferently fin—ished cattle did not meet with quite 'the. keen sale of the better class sorts. An aggregate yarding of approxilnatoly 400 head, comprising :50 steers and 150 cows and heifers. was drawn from over :1 wide area. Poverty Bay and Hawke's Bay vendors contributing to the ox beef section. Several choice quality lines came from the southern “'aikuto. The ox beef section. gener—ally. was made up of some of the best quality seen in the yards for some time. niediuni-t‘ranied well-finished steers predominating.
