Anderson, of the Auckland University College, has been appointed president of the forthcoming Australian and New Zealand Congress of Psychologists. Mr A. P. Nellson, formerly secretary of tlie New Zealand Dairy Factory Managers’ Association, who is now settled in Australia, arrived by the Lorangi yesterday on a business visit to the Dominion. He is at the Royal Hotel. Mr. R. G. Riding, M.A., chief agricultural instructor for the Taranaki Education Board, has been appointed inspector of manual and technical education under the Education Department and will take up his new duties immediately. Professor J. Hoops, who occupies the chair of English language and literature at Heidelberg University, Germany, arrived by the Makura at Wollington yesterday, accompanied by Mrs. Hoops. After 11 days in New Zealand he will go to Australia, and thence back to Germany. Captain W. N. Masefield, of Blenheim, the well-known New Zealand rifle ’shot, sails by the Makura this afternoon from Wellington for Sydney. He will compete at the annual meeting of the New South Wales Rifle Association in October.
