BROKEN GLASS FIEND
Two “bottle-o’s” who recently disdained to remove a quantity of broken glass on a public road when appealed to by a motorist were promptly and effectively dealt with. The bottle collectors were plying their calling in a Sydney suburb and carelessly allowed several bottles to fall to the roadway and shatter into fragments. The passing motorist entered his protest, but the drivers I of the cart merely abused him. | Thereupon the motorist commun- ! cated with the Willoughby Council j Chambers and an inspector immei diately set out on the track of the | offenders. Locating them eventually, ! he compelled them to return to the spot t where the broken glass lay and re- ! move every particle of it under threat ! of immediate prosecution, j Co-operation of all motorists is re- | quired if the broken glass menace is I to be got rid of.
