CHAPTER OF ACCIDENTS The result' of good training came in useful to a member of the Hamilton Harrier Club on Saturday. The team left Hamilton in the morning to visit Birkenhead on a run against the Calliope Harriers. When one car arrived at Mercer it had a breakdown and one of the best runners got out and made a sprint 4.0 the station to catch the express, bui to his dismay the train did not stop. Not to be denied, he hailed a passing car and started on his journey again, until this car finished in a ditch. Getting out, ne waited for another lift and arrived at Birkenhead about 4.30 p.m., where he received a great welcome and was able to start in the run.
