PIRATE SHIPPE EN FETE
The annual dance of the Waitemata Women’s Progressive League and the North Shore Ex-Service-men’s Association was held at Ye Pirate Shippe, Milford, on Saturday evening. Dr. H. J. C. ‘Wilkie, president of the Waitemata Women’s Progressive League, welcomed the guests. In a brief speech, Sir George Richardson, patron of the club, spoke of the splendid work done in the past by the two organisations in helping necessitous cases in the district. The committee present included: Dr. Harriet Wilkie, president of the league, who wore a frock of black and green floral georgette; Airs. Hall-Alan, unrelieved black lace; Mrs. Clark-Wal-ker, black satin beaute; Airs. G. de B. Brandon, peach taffeta frock; Airs. Gordon, cherry red taffeta; Mrs. George Nicks, frock of leaf green moire velvet; Mrs. Angleton, black crepe de chine frock; Mrs. Paul Reston, gown of saxo blue taffeta; Mrs. Christy, black rnarocain frock, with touches of green. * Among those present were: Lady Richardson, wearing a gown of black georgette, with hand-painted panels; Mrs. A.
