“DOUBLE CROSSROADS” With a story filled with heart beats and a cast composed of artists, every one of whom has played leading roles, “Double Cross Roads,” Fox all-talking Movietone of regeneration is interesting the audiences at the Majestic Theatre. Robert Ames, who made his mark in Broadway productions and who supported Gloria Swanson in “The Trespasser,” portrays a leading role, and Lila Lee, beautiful, beloved and talented screen actress, plays the principal feminine role. The story deals with the emotional relationship of a boy and girl with their exalting love set against menacing influences that threaten to draw them back into an atmosphere of criminal action. Tho Majestic’s programme includes a number of bright supporting features. There is a Universal Newspaper News, songs by Dorothy Whitmore, scenes of Kingsford Smith’s arrival in New York, and a comedy, “Steaming U«p,” by the inimitable Clark and McCullough. During the school holidays the Majestic is presenting special programmes for the children both morning and afternoon. Suitable films are being shown, the programme until Wednesday being headed by “The Lone Star Ranger” an exciting Western story based on a £sane Grey novel and starring George O’Brien.
