MUNICIPAL MUSIC
BAND PROGRAMMES AT ZOOLOGICAL PARK ORGAN RECITAL Despite the inclement weather there was a satisfactory attendance at the Zoological Park yesterday afternoo*. when a delightful concert was provided by the Municipal Rand. The programme was opened with a march. "The Return.” by Windram, followed by Gounod’s ‘Mirella” overture. A cornet solo by Mr. Fred Bowe.-. “The Holy City,” and a piccolo solo bv Mr. Hal C. McLennan. “Souvenir de Liege,” were both well received. Otheritems by the band were the hymn •Hollingside." a waltz “Hydropaten, selections from "Maritana" and free “Lilac Time.” the idyll “Softly Unawares,” and the march “British Steel.” A delightful programme of classic 1 music, including works by Core:!!. Bach. Boellmann, Widor. Dvorak. M 1stenholme and Lefebere- Wt- ly. was given by the City Organist. Air. Maug ban Barnett, in the Town Hall las’ evening.
