ONEHUNGA KINDERGARTEN

PRESENTATION TO FOUNDERS Mrs. D. Cuthbert, president, and the committee of the Onehunga Free Kindergarten spent a very enjoyable time on Friday in entertaining a number of their friends at morning tea in the school room, Coronation Hall, Queen Street, Onehunga. A pleasing part of the programme' was an exhibition of drill and exercises by the little pupils, who went through the various evolutions with great precision and evident enjoyment. While tea was being served to the adults, each tiny tot was supplied with a cup of milk with rusks, for which they have to thank Messrs. Amburys, Limited, and Peddie Bros., who have generously undertaken to provide these extras during the winter months. A feature of the proceedings was a presentation of china to Mrs. Hugh Murdoch and Miss A. Watkin, president and treasurer, respectively, of the Kindergarten since its establishment four years ago, and to whose efforts the success of the school was largely attributed. Luring the morning two solos were contributed by Mrs. Hobday. Those present were: Mrs. Robert Buchanan, Mrs. Howard Newton, Miss Earle, Mrs. H. Wilkinson, Mrs. Samuel Davenport, Mrs. E- Graham, Mrs. G. G. Margetts, Miss Z. Margetts, Mrs. Sadler, Mrs. Kidd, Mrs. Pascoe, Mrs. Fordham, Mrs. Coutts,” Miss Neill, Mrs. Phillips, Mrs. Fowke, Mrs. W. W. Warnock, Mrs. A. Price, Mrs. A. Mabee. Miss Brookfield, Miss Oxley, Miss Talbot, Miss H. Smith, Miss M. Christie, Mrs. L>. H. Kirk-Jones, Mrs. Ransom, Mrs. Bobbie, Mrs. T. J. Wathew, Airs. Bates and Airs. Toy. The entertainment was arranged by the Kindergarten Committee, consisting of Mrs. L. Cuthbert, president, Mrs. J. Chapman, secretary, Miss A. Watkin, treasurer, Mrs. H. Murdoch, Mrs. E. V. Sutherland, Airs. J. Kirkwood, Mrs. T. J. G. Neill. Airs. Norman Wade, Airs. Val Kirk and Airs. E. F. Jones.
