SaturdaV August 30: Marton Jockey Club. Sat urday, September 6; and the Wanganui Jockey Club. Thursday and Saturday September 11 and 13. Then a return to Auckland will bo made for the spring fixtures at Avordale and Ellersiie.
ROTORUA RACING CLUB ANNUAL MEETING ELECTION OF OFFICERS | •From Our Own Correspondent ROTORUA, Today. The Rotorua Racing Club’s annual meeting was largely attended. The president. Dr. H. Bertram, com plimented the club on its successful race meeting and healthy finances and good year generally. The annual report and balance sheet was adopted. Motions of thanks to Mr. C. H Clinkard. M.P.. and Mr. W. H. Wackrow for their support at the Ftacing Conference were carried. A recommendation to increase the secretary’s honorarium was carried with the approval of the executive. A proposal to purchase 40 acres adjoining Arawa Park at £IOO an acre for extensions and improvements was agreed to. The election of officers resulted as j follows:—Patron. Mr. H. E. WAIKATO HUNT ANNUAL RACE MEETING LABOUR DAY PROGRAMME As usual the Waikato Hunt Club is very early in the field with the programme for its annual race meeting, which is to be held at Cambridge on Labour Day, Monday, October 27. This club holds with the Pakuranga Hunt Club the distinction of providing stakes very much in excess of those offered by Southern kindred bodies, and also considerably better than those offered by old-established racing clubs. The programme to be staged by the j Waikato Hunt Club on Labour Day is a most attractive one. with the Hunt Cup, £6OO, and the Members’ Memorial Handicap, £ 300, as the plums for owners of the good performers.
