Pakuranga Hunt Club Meeting
Spring Sunshjne Encourages Lighter Frocking at Ellerslie The weather clerk must have been in the happiest of moods this morning when he decided on such a glorious springtime day for the Pakuranga Hunt Club meeting at Ellerslie. The gardens and lawns were looking delightfully fresh and racing enthusiasts thoroughly enjoyed the day’s sport. Trim ensembles were still the outstanding feature of the frocking, and for the most part these were carried out in the new “fairy-weight” tweeds, and often included bag and hat to match. Here and there silks made a tentative appearance and were particularly charming when allied with a flecked or pin-spotted material in the same shade. Greens, wine reds and browns evidently retain their place in Aladame’s affection, although blue, that most becoming colour, is noticeably growing in popularity. Black continues to he correct and is very smart this season when combined with pink or rosybeige. ON THE LAWN Lady Blunden was wearing a grey frock fur coat and violet straw hat. Alts.
