MT. ALBERT REUNION

OLD BOYS VISIT SCHOOL FOOTBALL AND SHOOTING The old boys of the Mount Albert Grammar School turned up in force at the school yesterday afternoon, when the anual reunion began. Shooting and football matches were held between school teams and the old boys. A visit to the school had not been a feature of the reunion in pre.vious years. The old boys were welcomed in the hall by Mr. E. W. Gamble, headmaster, who said he hoped the visit would, in future, be paid annually. Mr. V. C. Butler, president of the Old Boys’ Association, and Mr. B. Hintz thanked the school for the welcome given the old boys, and spoke of the great improvements carried out in the school grounds during the last few years. The school hymn—the words of which were written by Mr. J. A. Bennett, a former pupil—was sung by the choir. Other musical items were given in the hall by the boys of the school. The sports events started at three o’clock. The old boys were beaten at Rugby, going down by one point. At Soccer they led by the odd goal in three until two minutes before'the end, when the school scored another goal, the game finishing in a draw. The school team won the shooting match. A smoke concert in the school hall tomorrow evening will conclude the reunion. -
